After the adoption of its iconic shirt into the British music scene over 60 years ago, Fred Perry has kept deep ties with music, which informs the brand’s identity until today. Here in the Philippines, Fred Perry has consistently celebrated Record Store Day through the years, and this year, the brand kicks off the festivities with “Record Parade in Cebu.”
Record Parade is a total sensory experience of the vinyl record subculture. Featuring a vinyl record bazaar and a vinyl record gig, the event is a crossroad where the sellers, collectors and lovers of vinyl records in Cebu meet and celebrate Record Store Day with the rest of the vinyl record geeks around the world.
Happening on April 13, the event will open in the afternoon with a vinyl record bazaar with various sellers from Cebu and Manila, covering a wide spectrum of musical style and genre.
Clips of Fred Perry Subculture video will be shown and will serve as the visual backdrop all throughout the event.
And to complete the analog feel and atmosphere, various vinyl selectors from Cebu and Manila will be playing their top playlists from the afternoon until midnight.
All of these and more will happen within the hip and trendy confines of DRAFT PUNK: Brewers & Skewers
Call it vinyl heaven or a mecca of some sort for vinyl collectors and music geeks alike, but one thing’s for sure—this gig’s going to take us for a spin.
Record sellers are the following: Haul Records, Rootdown Records and Prints, On The Corner Music, The Sound Armory, RMN Music, Hits Back Used Vinyl LP’s & CD’s, Stars On 45 and Majoun Records
