Young actress and box-office star Kathryn Bernardo (@bernardokath) topped Twitter Philippines’ list of Filipino female celebrities while Phenomenal Star Vice Ganda (@vicegandako) claimed the top spot in the Filipino male celebrities category for January to March this year.
The list was released by Twitter Philippines as it looked back on the events of the country’s entertainment scene that kept Twitterverse abuzz for the first three months of 2019.
Recently named Phenomenal Star of Philippine Cinema for the record-breaking 2018 film, “The Hows of Us,” the 23-year-old Bernardo is one half of the popular loveteam, KathNiel. The other half is her reel and real-life partner Daniel Padilla, with whom she has starred in a string of hit teleseryes and movies. Bernardo is currently in Hong Kong to shoot her first movie with Alden Richards. Titled “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” it is directed by Cathy Garcia Molina and produced by Star Cinema.
Vice Ganda, on the other hand, has several blockbuster movies to his name, including last year’s Metro Manila Film Festival top grosser, “Fantastica.” He currently hosts two ABS-CBN programs, the noontime show “It’s Showtime” and the Sunday talk show, “Gandang Gabi Vice.” He is also one of the judges of the upcoming reality TV singing competition, “Idol Philippines.”
In second place for the top Filipino female celebrities category is young actress Loisa Andalio (@iamAndalioLoisa), followed by Anne Curtis-Smith (@annecurtissmith), Maymay Entrata (@maymayentrata07), Sue Ramirez (@sueanndoodles), Maine Mendoza (@mainedcm), Maris Racal (@MissMarisRacal), Sofia Alejandre (@iamsofiaandrea), Kisses Delavin (@KissesDelavin) and Alex Gonzaga (@MsCathyGonzaga).
Taking the second spot for the top Filipino male celebrities category is spoken word artist, writer and actor Juan Miguel Severo (@TheRainBro). He is followed by Donny Pangilinan (@donnypangilinan), Ronnie Alonte (@iam2alonte), Alden Richards (@aldenrichards02), Charles Kieron (@hashtag_CK), Marlo Mortel (@marlomortel), Joshua Garcia (@iamjoshuagarcia), Ken Chan (@akosiKenChan) and Kyle Echarri (@kyle_echarri).
Meanwhile, the popular loveteam MayWard (Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber) is the most talked-about love team on Twitter. Ranked second is DonKiss (Donny Pangilinan and Kisses Delavin), followed by AlDub (Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza), LizQuen (Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil) and KathNiel (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla).
Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil’s romantic drama, “Alone/Together” is the top Filipino movie on Twitter for January to March 2019, followed by Nadine Lustre’s “Ulan,” McCoy de Leon and Elise Joson’s “Sakaling Maging Tayo,” Jodi Sta. Maria’s “Second Coming” and Charo Santos and Bea Alonzo’s “Eerie.”
Darrenatics, or fans of Darren Espanto, proved that they are the fandom to beat when the young singer copped the number 1 spot in the Top OPM Musicians list. Rounding up the top five (in order) are: Moira Dela Torre (@moirarachelle4), IV of Spades (@IVOFSPADES), TNT Boys (@TheTNTBoys) and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid (@reginevalcasid).
GMA Network’s weekly sitcom “Daddy’s Gurl,” top billed by Vic Sotto and Maine Mendoza, was the most talked about “teleserye.” Taking the second spot is ABS-CBN’s mid-morning series, “Playhouse,” followed by the primetime teleserye, “The General’s Daughter” (ABS-CBN), “TODA One I Love” (GMA Network) and “Onanay” (GMA Network).
