Take a sip of summer with Starbucks

Sand on your feet. The cool sea breeze on your face. And you lying on the beach with not a care in the world. Wouldn’t it be nice to get away now that summer is here?

Lucky for us, taking a vacation can also mean merely stepping inside a Starbucks store and enjoying its new beverages, food items, merchandise and other offerings for this season.

At a recent gathering for Cebu media and bloggers, the Starbucks Philippines team unveiled their exciting surprises for summer. “When you think of summer, you think about a cold frappuccino,” said Jamie Silva, Starbucks Philippines category manager, as she introduced the three new frappuccinos that will be part of Starbucks Philippines’ permanent menu.

She also noted that since Starbucks opened its very first store in the Philippines in December 1997, they haven’t introduced a new core or permanent beverage and that they’re doing this now “to level up the experience and hopefully, rekindle the love for frappucino.”

First up was the Triple Mocha Frappuccino, which is a reinvented version of the Mocha Frappuccino, containing mocha, a drizzle of dark mocha sauce, and the signature whipped cream which is cold brew (for that extra kick!) infused with mocha and dark caramel sauce.

The second was the Dark Caramel Frappuccino, which also has the signature whipped dream at the bottom and top of the drink, dark caramel sauce at the bottom and drizzled with dark caramel syrup.

The third frappuccino is extra special because it is only available in the Philippines and the US. The Red Velvet Cake Cream Frappuccino is an upgraded version of the raspberry frappuccino blended with vanilla syrup, mocha chips, mocha sauce and topped with whipped cream.

For those who a prefer a non-coffee drink, the Mixed Berry Frappuccino with Pomegranate Pearls is the perfect choice. Available for a limited time only, it has milk with mixed berry sauce, pomegranate pearls topped with whipped cream.

Starbucks also introduced delightful and filling food items in its menu for summer. These include the Banana Chocolate Chia Cookie, Sausage Mushroom Puff, Apple Butterscotch Cheesecake, S’mores Cake, Chicken Parmigiana and Cheese Danish. For card collectors, there are two new ones available: the Popsicle Card and the Botanical Card.

Featured Coffee: Kopelani Blend

And what’s a Starbucks promo without the featured coffee? For this season, it’s the Kopelani Blend, which is characterized by caramelly sweetness with nutty notes. The Hawaiian term for “heavenly coffee,” Kopelani is “a blend of East African and Latin American beans, with 10% of the beans coming from Hawaii Ka’u’s growing region.”

So, take a quick vacation, take a sip of your choice Starbucks beverage and enjoy the tastes of summer.
